Computer Time! Santa at the Barber Shop! Preschoolers loved using their mouse to create new styles for Santa’s beard! 🎅
Having fun isn’t hard when you have a library card!📕 Each Wednesday we bring our books back do we can check out new ones! So fun choosing our special book!
Preschool+Plus - Celebrating Christmas Around the World! 🌎
Each week we pack our “suitcases” which include our Passports to discover new cultures and holiday traditions. Preschoolers enjoying adding new stamps to their passports as we travel to new countries!
Hanukkah: the Festival of Lights!
Preschool+Plus learned about this special Jewish holiday and the meaning of symbols used in celebrating Hanukkah, such as the Menorah. We read about how children prepare and celebrate Hanukkah and compared it to how we get ready for Christmas celebrations with our families!
Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel!
One Hanukkah tradition preschoolers learned about us the dreidel game. This 4-sided top has a different letter of the Hebrew alphabet on each side. Nun, Gomel, He, and Shin is an acronym for “a great miracle happened here”, which refers to the 8 days the oil lasted. This proved to be an awesome opportunity to integrate math as the children used one to one correspondence to count out their gelt! We love learning about these special traditions children celebrate in other parts of the world.
Candy Cane Sequencing Puzzle helps preschoolers gain practice cutting straight lines, sequencing numbers 1-10, and experience with fine motor skills!
Gumdrop Patterning🍬🍭🍬🍭
Children gain more knowledge through hands on experiences with objects. Gumdrops were a fun way for  them to practice creating, extending, and documenting their patterns! Preschoolers formed their pattern using gumdrops, “read” their pattern to me, and then tried to apply letters to their pattern. They created AB, AAB, ABB, AABB, ABC, and ABCD patterns!!! Great math language preschoolers!!
Candy Cane Measuring! Wish we had better pics of this center because it was so fun. Preschoolers used non-standard units to measure items around their classrooom. This was so fun to see how some children measured the perimeter or height instead of the width or length. Wonderful opportunities to use more math language! We gained practice in counting, one to one correspondence, following directions, and writing our numbers! ❤️
Candy Cane Letters! So fun using candy canes to form our letters in the green colored sand! This sensory experience actually helps children gain better awareness of the movements they are using to form each letter.
