We loved hearing about Eve’s week with Corduroy the Bear🐻
Corduroy had fun attending dance class with Eve! They had yummy pancakes and sausage at our SJ Pancake Breakfast on Sunday and came to the Open House where they visited Matthew’s classroom! Matthew and Eve created an awesome Corduroy the Bear made from craft foam, and we love all of the colorful drawings! Thank you for taking such good care of Corduroy this Week, Eve! We look forward to hearing all about Caroline’s adventures with Corduroy next week!
We explored the force of gravity on an inclined plane today by creating drip paintings! Preschoolers explored how fast or slow the paint ran down the paper which depended on variables such as incline and thickness of paint. Using pipettes also helped us practice the tripod grip and strengthen those muscles we need for writing and forming letters.
Our marble maze is made up of many inclined planes! The children loved tracking the marble as it went from side to side through the maze.
Table Time : Exploring 2-D and 3-D shapes! Camilla learned about a new shape, a trapezoid! Lily created her own 3-D shape that consisted of triangles, squares, and rectangles!
Ice Cube Patterning had preschoolers exploring 2 and 3 color patterns. We express these in terms of letters such as A, B, and C. This multi step center had us identifying, building, extending, and recording patterns using 3-D cubes! This is a math term preschoolers have been using in class!
How can you make five? This was an engaging Center today! It introduced fun math skills such as addition, probability, representing number, sorting and sets!
Our large math circle yesterday introduced us to this fun game so that preschoolers were able to work independently!
Process Art Using a Salad Spinner! Preschoolers engaged large motor muscles by turning the crank on the salad spinner! This creates centrifugal force which splatters the pint in amazing designs! Preschoolers all said “spinning with Mrs. Truskowski” was their favorite Center today!
Our Religion last week was “I Can Play”. We talked about our favorite thing to play, and found many classmates had the same interests! We thought about how God likes to see us sharing and being kind while we play so that everyone is happy. Today we played “Squirrel in a Tree”. This was such a fun game to involve everyone and emphasize positive, social community relationships! Everyone is our friend at school! The children look forward to playing this again on Friday!
Madison is a Big Sister!💖🎉💖
Congratulations to the Kiefer family! We can’t wait to meet baby Grace!
Boomwhackers with Mr. Showstead! Each colored tube sounds a different note!
Love these for keeping rhythm, starting/stopping (self regulation), gross motor movement, and FUN!
