Welcome to Preschool at St. Joseph Catholic School!

I am so excited to be your child’s preschool teacher this year!

This is my sixth year at St. Joseph Catholic School and I am looking

forward to helping your child grow, and learn,

and have fun this year.

I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for over 25 years,

and am passionate about helping young children learn.

I believe children learn best with hands-on experiences and

help facilitate their many different learning styles

in a kind and nurturing setting.

We will have an amazing year together meeting new friends, sharing new

discoveries, and learning new skills everyday.

Our instructional aide, Mrs. Tina Truskowski, has much experience in the classroom

after being a aide at St. Joseph Catholic School for over 15 years!

Together, we help build positive relationships with children to help foster

growth and confidence in a caring classroom community.

We are both looking forward to sharing a wonderful year with your child.

PreK 4 Halloween Party 2021

Thank you to Stephanie Vidal for putting together this video of our Halloween Party
During our Religion lesson today, we discussed all the ways we can let our light shine at school. One of the ways the children agreed we can follow Jesus, is by sharing! This was the perfect example today as 6 children shared one container of Gears!✨✨✨ Shine, shine, shine✨✨✨
Table Time includes trees that preschoolers thread colorful leaves to each branch! We love these for the opportunity to create both simple and more complex patterns! Today we saw AB, ABC, and ABB patterns built!
Celebrating Feast of All Saints!
Preschoolers learned that saints are special friends of Jesus who were like lights shining with God’s love! We discussed some Saints they knew, and listened to a story about Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. We look forward of following Jesus, like St. Elizabeth, by gathering food for the hungry during our November Food drive. Preschoolers will also tour the Food Pantry and gain a better understanding of helping those in need in our community.
Gg is for Gobble, Gobble Process Art!
Preschoolers combined colorful dot markers and water to create the first step of this fun seasonal project! 🦃
Our threading station features “trees” that preschoolers add colorful “leaves”to! This is awesome for building fine motor, and eye-hand coordination! And engagement!
So grateful for our amazing Room Parents and Parent volunteers who made today so special for our little ghosts and goblins🧡🎃🧡
Many thanks to Martha Bosch (Evelyn’s Mom), Natasha Roszkowiak (Marek’s Mom), Vickie Gadomski (Nate’s Mom), Jessica Obiala, (Caroline’s Mom), Sussan Chang (Chiara’s Mom)! It was so special to have our parent community back in the classroom!
Bat Measurement 🦇. Preschoolers used non-standard measurement today to discover how long their bat wing (handprint) was!
Thank you so much for our amazing Room Parents and Party Volunteers! It was so wonderful to welcome our parents back into the classroom!
