Welcome to Preschool at St. Joseph Catholic School!

I am so excited to be your child’s preschool teacher this year!

This is my ninth year at St. Joseph Catholic School and I am looking

forward to helping your child grow, and learn,

and have fun this year.

I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for over 25 years,

and am passionate about helping young children learn.

I believe children learn best with hands-on experiences and

help facilitate their many different learning styles

in a kind and nurturing setting.

We will have an amazing year together meeting new friends, sharing new

discoveries, and learning new skills everyday.

Our instructional aide, Mrs. Tina Truskowski, has much experience in the classroom

after being a aide at St. Joseph Catholic School for over 15 years!

Together, we help build positive relationships with children to help foster

growth and confidence in a caring classroom community.

We are both looking forward to sharing a wonderful year with your child.

Apples come in many different colors! We made predictions about what color they would be on the inside!!
In our story, “The Day the Crayons Quit”, White crayon is sad because no one notices him! Preschoolers enjoyed using white crayons for our crayon resist water coloring painting! So beautiful!
Sidewalk Art! Rain may have dampened the playground, but our artists enjoyed making colorful chalk creations.
“Shapes” by Greg & Steve had preschoolers using music and movement to help develop listening skills, as well as identifying and naming shapes!!
PreK 4 Media: Computer time! Using a mouse to navigate tanagram puzzles on a screen! Triangle Day helped us learn about geometric shapes using so many different kinds of media!
Triangle Day in Media! Preschoolers listened to Mrs. Hoglund read a new book in the library called “Triangle”. Great read!! Tanagram puzzles were a great accompanying activity that helped us develop spatial relationships!
So much fun identifying, naming, and making shapes today!! Manipulating the rubber bands on our boards also build dexterity and strength needed to color, write, and hold a pencil!
Word Wall Letter Cc! We enjoy building our understanding of beginning sounds with our weekly activity! The children take turns adding words to our list! Today some even ventured into the classroom looking for words that started with letter C! So awesome that they are ‘reading our room’ and developing these letter/word connections!
We concluded our own Mohr test on our rocks to evaluate their hardness/softness. Alexa’s was able to draw a heart shape with her rock, which proved it was soft!
