Religion -  Chapter 22 - God Made Big Things. God is great and powerful. The children will be impressed with some big things made by God. they will realize that God is great and powerful and praise and thank God. Seeds Lesson: The children will recognize the people who care for them and recognize ways they show care. The children will recognize a shepherd as an image of God’s care. They will identify Jesus as the Good Shepherd. The children will recognize that Jesus takes care of them. They will complete an end-of-year certificate.

STEAM -  Storytime STEAM: “Jack and the Beanstalk” - Preschoolers will create a beanstalk for our classroom! They will be involved in exploring several versions of this classic fairy tale, and explain the similarities/differences between them. They will sequence events in the story: beginning, middle, and end. Jack Feet vs. Giant Feet: using non-standard units, they will measure our beanstalk,record their findings, and make comparisons of size. The children will engineer their own beanstalk, using various materials, that can support the Giant’s castle.Preschoolers will plant their own bean plant and record observations over time.

OWL -  Unit 6 Week 1 - Daytime and Nighttime: “What happens when day changes to night?” Phonological awareness: blending 2 and 3- phonemes words, produce rhyming words, identify rhyming words. Preschool+Plus

Religion - May Crowning. Preschoolers will host a get-together with Ms. Nash’s class and view a live streaming of St. Joseph’s May Crowning.

Sharks! Preschoolers will be introduced to many different species of these toothy creatures. Shark Bingo: children will be able to match silhouettes of various sharks by identifying characteristics unique to each. The children will learn about the anatomy of a shark, and discover how they propel their stream-lined, torpedo shaped body through the water. They will learn how sharks use their large brains to see, smell, hear, eat, and feel. Vocabulary: carnivore, cartilage, camoflage, cold-blooded, denticles. “Get on my boat”: preschoolers will gain a hands-on understanding of how to make 5!
