I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.
 
Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

At the red table today, we worked on our CVC words. We matched uppercase letters to lowercase letters, sounded out each letter, and swept the sounds together to read the word!
Music in the Box is a fun time!  One of our favorite activities is finding bubbles in the air. Today we sang the song all by ourselves. 
Lilliana shared her wonderful news! She has a new baby brother named Peter. Congratulations to the Senatore family!
 Katie worked so diligently and her beautiful color by number bunny during Morning choice time! So beautiful!
The children are making an amazing strand of links in rainbow colors to decorate the other half of our classroom. I cannot wait to see it finished today!

Maggie danced the Irish Jig for her classmates!

There is nothing better than showcasing a child’s passion. Thank you Maggie for sharing your talented Irish Jig steps with us today. We truly enjoyed it.
We read the story Brigid and the Butter, a legend about Saint Brigid of Ireland retold by Pamela Love. The children learned about how Brigid fed the poor and gave to others before herself. We celebrated the of our Ireland lesson with and Ireland flag treat (celery, string cheese and carrots, Irish Soda Bread with Irish Butter and Green River.  Yummy! Thank you Mrs. Fuscone for the Irish soda bread, butter and Green River!
Today the preschoolers learned the true story behind the Claddagh symbol. They helped each other by drawing and cutting out their own Claddagh artwork. The Claddagh has two hands that represent friendship, one heart for love and one crown for loyalty above all.
