Welcome to Little Knights Preschool

 at St. Joseph Catholic School!

Called to Discipleship: Be Christ’s Light

I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.

Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

PreSchool listened to the story How to Trap a Leprechaun by Sue Fliess and Emma Randall. Afterwards, the children built their own Leprechaun traps with rainbow slinky’s, pots of gold, mini leprechaun hats, and rainbow ladders. Thank you to Mrs. Fuscone and Mrs. Flynn for their help today. We had so much fun!
During our Afternoon Enrichment, Father Trout stopped by to share with us how he built his leprechaun traps when he was a little boy in Ireland.
Miss Angie brought her daughter with her today!  It was so fun to share our class with her!
After sounding out the CVC words, we sorted our words into its correct rhyming word family pocket.
We had a fun rhyming activity after our story using CVC words. First, we sounded out the words using our letter knowledge.
Our guest teacher today was Miss Nancylee Christerson. She read Dr. Seuss, our spotlighted author book, The is a Wocket in my Pocket.

Look at our beautiful board!  This was truly an engaging and fun collaborative experience. The children made our beautiful rainbow 🌈 during morning choice time along with the sparkly shamrocks. Afternoon friends made the leprechaun gold!
At the sensory table, the children explored rainbow pasta and rainbow magnets. Some children even made bracelets with the pipe cleaners.  Landon discovered the what happens when the North and South poles are put near each other. It was a fun attraction and repulsion discovery!
I can see a rainbow!  The children enjoyed creating a classroom rainbow during our morning open choice time.
