Welcome to Little Knights Preschool

 at St. Joseph Catholic School!

Called to Discipleship: Be Christ’s Light

I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.

Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

We all sing in the same voice...

The children had Music in the Box with Mrs. Beyer's class this afternoon.
We hung the rainbow chain on the other side of the classroom. It looks so pretty. PreK4 loves rainbows!
We used our observation skills and our smart brains to come up with 100 words for our letter of the week - Tt!  Wow!
With Mrs. Epley, the children enjoyed rolling and writing our names as well as our classmates names in rainbow colors.  The children used their subitizing skills to figure out what color to use every time they rolled the dice.
It was bubble foam science at the sensory table and used we our scientific skills. We observed the bubbles grow as the soap and water solutions were mixed with a beater. We predicted that when we mixed yellow and blue foam, we would make green - our color of the month! We enjoyed the feel of the bubbles and how soft the foam was. It was cool to wear our safety goggles too!
Domino Parking Lot was a blast at the green table. The children counted the dots on each domino and placed it in its corresponding parking spot.
At our yellow table, the children built, drew and counted how many shapes they used in tangram patterns.
