PreK 3

Religion - Unit 3 - “God Made Me Happy - I Can Sing”. The children will know that a song can be a prayer. They will thank God for the gift of song. Through story, song, and prayer the children will become acquainted with Mary and the angels.

Social Studies - Awareness of holidays and traditions.

Literacy/Language - Encouraging/building communication skills. Rhyming activities to raise awareness of letter sounds. Focus on letter of the week: Jj.

Math - Recognizing colors and shapes in objects. Counting/sequencing numbers. Focus on shape: star.

PreK 4

Religion - Unit 3 - “God Made the Earth - God Made Light”. The children will be grateful to God for the gift of light. They will identify Jesus as light and know that Jesus had the power to heal.

Social Studies - My BIG World - “Cold is Coming”. Compare how different animals ready for winter. How do these animals adapt to cold weather changes?

Science - Goody, Goody, Gumdrops. Emphasis on creativity and STEM skills as children use candy to explore 3D geometric structures. How do these candies react to water and heat?

Literacy - OWL - Unit 3 - Week 2: “On the Job - What do workers in our community do?”. Listen to This: Same/Different Sounds. Compare sounds that begin words. Name upper/lowercase letters Aa - Kk. Focus on letter of the week: Jj. Concept words: bus driver, doctor, job, mail carrier, police officer, teacher. Amazing words: alarm, emergency, firefighter, equipment, report, train

Math - Geometry: Name common solid shapes. Describe attributes of solid shapes. Use location words to describe location of items. Focus on shape: star.
