Welcome to Little Knights Preschool

 at St. Joseph Catholic School!

Called to Discipleship: Be Christ’s Light

I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.

Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

Preschool Prayer for March 17 - March 19, 2020

Dear Jesus,
Please show me how to spend this day
Sharing your LOVE in every way.
Help me to be kind to everyone
To play and laugh and have lots of fun!
Shining your light and giving your grace
Sharing your JOY with a smile on my face!
Amen

We hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!  We are thinking of all of you!
Love, Mrs. Feely and Mrs. Gillespie

Using craft sticks and a spoon, the children helped to make catapults.  They experimented with different objects to see what they could launch the farthest.  They were given a feather, pompon, small plastic cube, and a piece of fun foam.
We read a book about Shamrock Sean the Leprechaun.  The boys and girls the followed clues that the leprechaun left.   They had to figure out the riddles.  When they found the last clue the leprechaun had left them a bowl of gold coins and a treat!
Thank you to Mrs. Packer who came in and read the class 2 books for Landon’s Birthdays!  The boys and girls love having Moms and Dads come In to read to us!
Anthony brought Scruffy back to school.  Scruffy had a fun time visiting the Presutti house.  He helped Anthony during his surgery, ate Anthony’s favorite snack food, and spent some time with Anthony’s family.   We also found out that  Scruffy and Carmine snore and they both kept Anthony up all night.
scruffy will be spending some time at school the next few weeks getting ready for Spring.
During Circle Time we talked about shamrocks.  The three  leaves represent the Trinity:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
we also read “The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover”.   The children then helped retell the story.
Landon was our Special Person today!  Today is Landon’s 5th Birthday.  Happy Birthday Landon.
Congratulations to Leo and Milena!   They were awarded the Random Acts of Kindness Award for our class for the month of March.   Both Milena and Leo are kind and helpful to both their classmates as well as to the teachers.
During Media the children learned about leprechaun .   We all did the St. Patrick’s Day Chicka Boom Dance.  It was so much fun we danced to it twice! The boys and girls checked out their library books books which will be due back next week!
During Circle Time with practiced our prepositions with shamrocks.  The children all did a great job following directions.   We read a story about a little leprechaun named Shamrock Sean who went fishing.
During Circle Time we observed our “Walking Rainbow”.  The boys and girls saw that the water had walked from one cup to the next and we ended up with all the colors in the rainbow!  We also talked about leprechauns and how they get all their gold!
