March Madness STEAM with Preschool+Plus 🏀 Before our story, Dino Basketball, the children enjoyed designing their own basketball jersey!
The children listened to their challenge: to design and construct a basketball hoop for their basketball shooter! We discussed structure, shape, and materials!  Preschoolers also decorated their own basketball to shoot through the hoops! 🏀
Preschoolers took turns testing out their basketball hoops and even their friend’s! They gained knowledge of distance, force, trajectory, and position as they practiced shooting some hoops! 🏀 So fun!
Read It, Write It! Total WIN! Preschool+Plus celebrated March Madness with this fun one! Select a basketball, write the corresponding letter on your recording sheet, crumble up the paper “ball” and make a basket! 🏀 Combining gross motor & learning! They loved this one!
Exercise, Rhyme, and Freeze! Today’s read, Peep and Ducky had preschoolers listening for rhyming word pairs in the story! Afterwards they listened to other word pairs to decide if they rhymed or not! Rhyme or Freeze!
Rhyming Chicks 🐥 Preschoolers used a fun painting technique with plastic forks to create their chicks yesterday! Today they selected and cut out rhyming picture paired to add to each chick’s leg! One of our faves! Awesome rhyming, preschool!
Quack Write the Room 🐥 How many letters did you write? Practicing writing both upper and lowercase letters!
Eggs are the beginning of new life for many animals so! Preschoolers listed lots of animals they knew hatched from an egg including dinosaurs and chickens! Choice Time this week includes fun activities including this one in the fine motor station!
Choice Time: Easter Egg Match. Working on visual discrimination which is an important skill in recognizing letters and alphabet knowledge!
Religion Lesson: Easter  On Easter we celebrate new life. Preschoolers created their special cross to remind us how much Jesus loves us by bringing us hope and new life
Today’s Heggerty Heroes 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️🦸‍♂️…Adaline, Theodore, and Yago!
Religion Lesson: We welcome Jesus. Preschoolers are the learning about Holy Week and the events that led up to Easter. We read a short story about Jesus arriving in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, and how the people welcomed him by waving palm fronds and shouting, “Hosanna, Glory to the King!” They so enjoyed cutting out and creating their own palm, and recreating this each by taking turns to be Jesus.
Holy Week Begins  Preschoolers from both classes joined together to create this handprint cross for our classroom. So special❤️  They each followed with their religion lesson.
