Peek At Our Week April 16 – April 20, 2018

Religion Objectives:  

God Made Surprises – God Made Little Things.  The children will know that God made small things and realize that small things are important.  The children will praise and thank God for small things. 

Seeds – Jesus Appears To His Friends.  The children will recognize they have many kinds of feelings, identify the feelings of Jesus’ friends and thank God for feelings.   

Science Objectives: 

Discuss seasonal changes. Identify, observe and discuss objects in the sky. 

Identify, compare, and discuss Earth materials and their uses. We will be regrow lettuce and plant beans. 

Social Studies Objectives: 

Demonstrate that people need clothing. Discuss different jobs people do during different seasons. Use language to tell about an experience. Earth Day.

Music In The Box:  We will have our last class with Miss Ginger.

Literacy Objectives: 

Unit 6 – Week 3 – What changes in each season?  Concept words cold, fall, spring, summer, warm and winter. Amazing words bud, chilly, nest, boil, perfect and tip.  Writing our own name and following daily routines. Observe and discuss seasons. Understand the meaning of words. Initial and final sounds, letter sound /Bb/, /Cc/, /Jj/, and /Tt/, onset and rime, initial and ending consonant sounds and vowel review. Produce words that begin with the same sound. Use language in a discussion and engage in conversation. Respond appropriately to questions and in discussions. Engage in pre-reading and reading related activities. Answer questions about a book and retell a story. Listen and do activity. The children will journal about their friends at school and Earth Day.  Focus on the Letter of the Week, Vv. 

Math Objectives: 

Count 10 items in any order.  Count 10 children in any order. Combining sets to make 10. Making sets of 10.  Make and break 10. Ten frames.  Left and right concepts. Roll and cover number 1 through 12.

Afternoon Enrichment: 

Monday: Bonjour! Our France lesson continues with study of Vincent Van Gogh and his masterpieces. 

Tuesday: IXL Math and Listen and Do.

Wednesday: Afternoon Gym and Media CAPE with Mrs. Beyer’s class. 

Thursday: We will read books about recycling with a feature on Michael Recycle by Ellis Bethel.  We will become recycling superheroes!  We will have our last Music in the Box with Miss Lisa and Mrs. Beyer’s class.

Friday: STEAM – Homemade plantable seed paper.   Mindfulness class with Miss Angie!
