We enjoyed the Irish folk tale 'Nora Mavourneen and the Fairy Queen’,  featuring Irish music plus original illustrations   Nora is a “gloomery” little girl who learns to smile after meeting the woodland fairies.  The children then all became fairy king and queens!
Maggie, Jack's big sister, came to class today and performed the Irish jig for the class.  It was fun to try some of the steps!  Thank you Maggie!
Patterning with our friends is a favorite!  We reviewed what makes a pattern.  We had some tricky patterns to figure out and we labeled patterns.

IXL On The Go!

Did you know that  the IXL app is available for the iPhone, iPad, Kindle and  Android tablets? Hands-on learning starts here: IXL has fun visuals and interactive problem types such as colorful stickers, drag-and-drop questions, and interactive graphing tools.  IXL supports handwriting recognition and a scratchpad feature that allows you to work through problems right on the screen. Your child's progress will sync across all devices so you can pick up where you left off.  Best of all, text-to-speech audio that supports early learners.  IXL is on the go!

Mrs. Hoglund read When Spring Comes by Kevin Henkes.  This story uses striking imagery, repetition, and alliteration to introduce basic concepts of language and the changing of the seasons.  The also saw a springtime video and played on ABCya to paint and draw.
We got hashtag building blocks in our classroom!   The children can use their imaginations to great flat mosaic or 3D designs.

Check out our photo albums!

Please note that all pictures are uploaded to our photo albums if you want to download copies.  Enjoy!

The children enjoyed the Irish Dancers today during Music class with Mr. Showstead.  What a wonderful way to complete our day!
Father Trout was very impressed by the catapult project.  He even gave the children some fun ideas to try at home!
We made cereal catapults for our STEM lesson today.  The children learned and experimented with trajectory with lots of trial and error!
Thank you Mrs. Keifer, Mrs. Kristenbrink, Mrs. Maher and Mrs. Watson for throwing a wonderful party for the children!
