  • Begin Word Journal for the vocabulary words from “Around the Room”-“Names” in Wonder
    • Word Journals will include the vocabulary word, its definition, a sentence, and a picture to associate with the word/definition.
  • Read and discuss the first seven sections of Wonder
  • Show comprehension of the first seven sections of the book with correct answers to comprehension questions
  • Begin character web for Auggie, which will be used to track the changes he undergoes throughout the book.

Language Arts:

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
  • Show understanding of main & helping verbs and action & linking verbs
  • Identify and differentiate between independent and dependent clauses
  • Learn about and show understanding of the two types of clauses
  • Show comprehension of Week 4 spelling words

 Social Studies:

  • Review concepts taught in the Social Studies Handbook section of the book
  • Show understanding of those concepts with correct answers on the review guide and test
  • The test on the first section of the Social Studies book is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 26. We will spend the week preparing/reviewing for this test.
