  • Begin working on word journal for the vocabulary words from “The Call”-“The Boyfriend” in Wonder

Language Arts:

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
  • Use understanding of what makes a good friend to free write about a question revolving around friendship in preparation for the narrative writing prompt

  • Use the aforementioned new vocabulary words correctly in a sentence and draw a picture to accompany each sentence

Language Arts:

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
  • Discuss characterization in narrative writing
  • Use a characterization sketch template
  • Show understanding of past tense verbs and compound predicates
  • *Due to the short week, there will be no spelling list or test this week.
  • *A DOL quiz will be given on the last Monday of the month (October 28)

 Social Studies:

  • Show understanding of how to use an atlas
  • Compare and contrast how early Native Americans lived in North America
