Welcome to Little Knights Preschool

 at St. Joseph Catholic School!

Called to Discipleship: Be Christ’s Light

I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.

Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

This afternoon we heard the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.  The boys a d girls did a great job retelling the story me.  Then we planted our own bean seeds.  We will watch and see if we can grow our own giant beanstalk
The boys and girls did an Easter Write the Room.  There were 10 word cards to find.  Then they had to write the Easter words on their sheets.
We had our Religion Easter lesson today.  The boys  and girls used red and yellow coloring and eye droppers to make a beautiful sunrise pictures for our religion bulletin board.
Media with Mrs Hoglund.  She read us a cute Easter story about a bear.  The boys and girls checked out books and listened to a story the IPads.
We saw the results of our Egg soaked in vinegar experiment.  The egg has been soaking for 2 days.  When we took the egg out, the shell was gone.  The acid from the vinegar had dissolved it.  The egg was soft and rubbery.  We could see the yolk floating around.  When we broke the egg, the yolk was whole and we could see the remains of the shell.
This afternoon the boys and girls did a jellybean number count the room.  They found the cards, counted the beans and colored the sheet.  Many of the boys and girls wrote the number and/or copied the number word.  Great job!
