Welcome to Little Knights Preschool

 at St. Joseph Catholic School!

Called to Discipleship: Be Christ’s Light

I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.

Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

Freeze Dance and Simon Says were a fun way to end our Halloween Party.  Thank you to Mrs. Keifer, Mrs. Kritenbrink, Mrs. O'Malley, Mrs. Spears and Mrs. Watson for providing us with the fun!  The children had a wonderful time!
We loved showing all the classrooms on our floor our costumes.  It was so wonderful to see all the visitors in the hallway!  Thank you for coming and sharing in this fun tradition with us!
In Afternoon Enrichment we finished our Germany lesson by learning about the artist Paul Klee.  He loved animals, especially his cat.  We watercolored our own rendition of The Cat and The Bird. It was a wonderful afternoon!  We also tasted pumpernickel bread, not too many were fans but they were awesome to try it!
The sensory table has joined Morning Choice time and we are so excited!  We discussed our expectations yesterday and followed them like champs today.  We all remembered to wash our hands before playing at the table.  We all took turns so all our friends can enjoy the table and we cleaned up our spills!  We are responsible classroom members!
Nellie was the first member of our Zipper Club!  She showed Ms. Nash how she can zipper her coat and she took the pledge to always zipper herself.  So exciting!
We visited St. Joseph Church today.  Church is God's house and we will be very respectful when we enter His home. We are so excited for our first mass with our Prayer Buddies on All Saint's Day this Thursday.  We saw where we are going to sit and discussed our expectations.  Preschool loves field trips!
