Please send in your free vote every 24hrs for me if you can...I'd greatly appreciate it. I am so humbled to have made it so far already. It started two months ago with tens of thousands of contestants and now I'm in the top 5. It's amazing.

Math - None (Today we worked in our text books on capacity weights for liquids. Please note that 4 quarts = 1 Gallon, 8 pints = 1 Gallon, 2 pints = 1 quart, 4 cups = 1 quart, 4 cups = 2 pints....please use your Gallon Man handout to help you. All work was done in class and turned in. I am giving everyone extra practice worksheets to take home and do at home if they would like to. It will take time to truly comprehend this lesson, but we will get it before our Math test on May 8th.)

Science - None (Today during Science we took time to play around with the program, Canva. We will be using this program for our Wonder of the World project. The kids seemed to enjoy all the bells and whistles this program has to offer. I can't wait to see the final project results.)

Social Studies - None (Today we worked on a Westward Expansion Cloze worksheet where they had to pick which answer was correct in each sentence...like multiple choice options. This ends our unit on the Gold Rush and Westward Expansion.)

Upcoming events:

~ Field Trip on May 2nd to Kenosha Public Museum to learn about Native American tribes that lived in Wisconsin and also dissecting Owl Pellets. It's mixture of Science and Social Studies. We also have another Field Trip on May 22nd to the Civil War Museum in Kenosha. This will be a great experience for the students to see artifacts and listen to real life soldier stories as we finish the unit on the Civil War at that time. More info to come for chaperoning by our Room Parent's. Field Trip forms to come home in April. So excited for these opportunities of enrichment.

~ After much research on my end, I have decided to end this year in Science with a bit of Biology. I surprised the students and told them that we will be dissecting a crayfish on May 24th and an earthworm on May 15th. I would say 99% of them were so excited about this. A couple were not thrilled with the idea. Please know that this will not be graded, nor would I make any student do something they do not want to do or feel comfortable doing. This is strictly for fun and is totally optional. If they choose to not participate, they can come to the Science lab with us and read a book in the hallway. I'm very excited about this opportunity for the students.
