Wednesday, November 8, 2023 Homework
Tomorrow is our field trip to The Grove in Glenview. Your child may wear there gym uniform and gym shoes. Dress warm incase we have to do some walking outside from one location on property to another. I'm very excited about our first field trip together. They bring their lunches to school and we will eat in the classroom when we return. Thank you.
Math - Check My Progress Worksheet (Today we worked on check my progress pages in the textbook and they were also given a Check My Progress worksheet for homework that I allowed them to start in class. Check My Progress shows me how they understand the lessons taught thus far in this chapter. Please keep practicing multiplication flashcards at home as we will be doing a lot of multiplication in the next few weeks.)
Science - What is Force packet if not finished in class and NO D.O.S. this week (They each took a packet on Force to expand our knowledge on this subject even deeper.)
Social Studies - Pearl Harbor chapters 5, 6 , & 7 and comprehension packet of questions if not finished in class and State worksheet, and NO D.O.G. this week (Today we continued to read in our Pearl harbor books and answer some questions in our comprehension packets. Ask your child to tell you a fun fact from today's reading. I also passed out Sate worksheets to be done afterwards and if not finished they are homework. Reminder about 50 states test on November 17th...Students must spell the states correctly and make sure they are all capitalized too. If not, they will lose a 1/2 point on each one written incorrectly. They will have a word bank on the day of test, so they have to copy carefully and correctly. I have assigned games/quizzes on google classroom social studies for them to play and practice on too.)
Reminders:
~ Tis the season of giving and we are asking for donations for the Thanksgiving Food Drive tomorrow - Thursday, November 9th. Our class has been given bagged rice to donate, but please donate whatever you can. Your generosity means the world to many families in need.
~ No School this Friday, November 10th
- I offer office hours Monday - Thursday if your child needs me to reteach something in Math, Science or Social Studies. Please email me for assistance and we will meet via google meet link.
- I offer afterschool Math group tutoring on Thursday's of every week until 3:15pm. Some weeks we review and some weeks we go ahead and learn the next lessons. We will also work on strengthening our math facts in multiplication. It is $30 per week if you'd like to join. You can come and go from week to week, but it is very beneficial. Upcoming Events:
~ We will have our first field trip on Thursday, November 9th to The Grove in Glenview. We will see LongHouses from the Native Americans and also talk about Pioneers....all lessons we will have finished learning by then. Can't wait for this extra enrichment for the students.
