Students can wear their Gym Uniforms tomorrow for our field trip!

Mrs. Hanrahan visited our classroom today to answer any middle school questions the students had for her and then took them all on a middle school tour. They were very excited about the tour!

Math - pgs 953 & 954 and 959 & 960 (Today we worked on Lesson 8 and Lesson 9 which dealt with volume of Prisms. Formulas can be V= L x W x H or V= B x H. I had the students start their homework in class, so I can be here for any questions. Some of the brain builders questions were tricky and really needed a lot of thought. Really proud of how well they did overall.)

Science - None - The weekly D.O.S. (Daily Oral Science) has been passed out and is due by Friday. (Today we worked on Lesson 3 Check and Lesson 4 Check quizzes. They were able to use their books for help with answers.)

Social Studies: Packet on President's (T. Roosevelt & Presidential Pets)  if not finished in class. The weekly D.O.G. (Daily Oral Geography) was passed out and is due by Friday.  (Today we learned about President Theodore Roosevelt and Presidential Pets that lived in the White House. Ask your child to tell you one fact about each topic. We also watched short kids videos on President Theodore Roosevelt and a video on the Presidential Pets assigned in Google Classroom for them to watch. I can't wait for these packets to come home on Friday and they have so many great facts and information to talk about as a family. The videos can also be watched as home too. )

Optional weekly EXTRA CREDIT was passed out on Monday....they get to use these points in one of my subjects they choose. Have fun and try them together at home.

Upcoming Events:

~ We have another fun Field Trip this Thursday, May 25th at the Kenosha Public Museum. We will be learning about and dissecting owl pellets. We will also be learning about the Anishnaabe tribe that are indigenous to the Midwest region. It's mixture of Science and Social Studies. So excited about these programs and the enrichment the students will be receiving!

~ Dissection of Crayfish will be on Friday, May 26th. Googles must be worn to participate. Please make sure your child has goggles for the Lab. This is strictly for fun and is totally optional. If they choose to not participate, they can come to the Science lab with us and read a book. I'm very excited about this opportunity for the students.
