Friday, May 19, 2023 Homework

Today was a 12:30 schedule because we have a pep rally this afternoon. Because of this, each class period runs about 25 minutes long. Today was not a day to start new things at all. We will start strong on Monday. Thank you!

Math - None (Today we focused on finishing our iReady Math again as the window closed today for taking it. We took it slowly and also taking our time to think and work out problems. We did three lessons on this past Monday, so we are right on target, so we will still finish the text book and year strong. The students that were done with iReady were able to work on other work that is due by tomorrow or read a book.)

Science - None (My Science class had to take their Escape by Night book test because Mrs. Han visited us during our Social Studies time. I allowed the students in Ms. Bubis' class to watch Science videos and Science Brain Pop with games.)

Social Studies - None  (Mrs. Han visited our classroom to get us ready for middle school expectations. Ms. Bubis' class took their Escape By Night book test. Both classrooms turned in their packets as well. All grades and work will be in PowerSchool today and sent home. )

Optional weekly EXTRA CREDIT was passed out on Monday....they get to use these points in one of my subjects they choose. Have fun and try them together at home.

Reminders:

~ Food Pantry Collection for Thursday, May 25th. 5th grade has been chosen to donate Chef Boyardee canned foods please. Any donation is much appreciated!

~ I host Office Hours from 5pm to 6pm if needed from Monday - Thursday....just have your child email me and we can meet to discuss any questions they may have

Upcoming Events:

~ I have another fun Field Trip coming on May 25th at the Kenosha Public Museum. We will be learning about and dissecting owl pellets. We will also be learning about the Anishnaabe tribe. It's mixture of Science and Social Studies. We will need Chaperones for this field trip and room parents have sent out a Sign Up genius for it. So excited about these programs and the enrichment the students will be receiving!

~ Dissection of Earthworms will be on Wednesday, May 17th and the dissection of Crayfish will be on Friday, May 26th. Googles must be worn to participate. Please make sure your child has goggles for the Lab. This is strictly for fun and is totally optional. If they choose to not participate, they can come to the Science lab with us and read a book. I'm very excited about this opportunity for the students.
