Week of November 1-5, 2021
Math: This week we will finish up the Chapter with one more lesson on problem solving with word problems. Then we will spend some time reviewing addition with two digit addition and the concepts from the chapter before we take our test on Thursday, November 4th.
Language Arts: We will continue working with adding suffixes to base words and using them correctly in sentences to use the past, present, and future tenses. We will also practice reading adjectives that end in -er and -est and discuss how the ending changes the meaning of the word. During writing, we will choose a research topic for our informative writing pieces and begin the planning and drafting process.
Social Studies: This week we will start a new chapter in our My World Textbooks. This chapter is all about economics and we will focus on answering the question, “How do people get what they need?” We will discuss the difference between needs and wants. The students will learn the definitions of needs, wants, barter, scarce, choice, and purchase.
