We delivered our Christmas Show invitations to Mrs. Lentino and Mrs. Wegener in the front office.  The children then sang “Jesus Loves Me”
Can you find rectangles around the room?  The boys and girls found over 20.  We also sang our Reggie Rectangle song .   Before snack we read a little owl book.   Owls are nocturnal and the book mentioned some of his friends that are also nocturnal...bats, possums, raccoons to name a few.
Today is Rectangle Day.   During Morning Work the boys and girls completed their rectangle books,
The boys and girls cut and had to put in correct order an autumn tree.   This was a fun sequencing activity.
Uppercase letters were hidden under the corn kernels in the sensory table.  The  boys and girls had to find them and match them to lowercase letters on the table.
Center Day and Color Brown Day!   One of the activities the boys and girls did was to make a brown owl.   They cut, painted and pieces the owl together.
During Circle Time we continued our discussion about owls.  We reviewed what we learned about yesterday.  The boys and girls sang a few owl songs and then we read “Owl Babies” by:  Martin Waddell.  The boys And girls enjoyed this story about 3 little owls waiting for their mommy to come back.
Karlee was our Special Person today.   Karlee did a great job getting our day started at Morning Meeting!

Afternoon Enrichment worked on graphing shapes.   Following that they did a “Write the Room” activity.  The boys and girls had to walk around the room find hidden numbers and shapes and write them on their paper.   They did a great job working alone and in pairs.   We ended our afternoon learning about number 9.   Finding 9 items and one to one counting.
When the boys and girls pulled the peels apart they found pieces of an animal skeleton.   But further examining the skeletons, the boys and girls found they belonged to a small bird...one of the prey owls will eat.
