We visited St. Joseph Church today.  Church is God's house and we will be very respectful when we enter His home. We are so excited for our first mass with our Prayer Buddies on All Saint's Day this Thursday.  We saw where we are going to sit and discussed our expectations.  Preschool loves field trips!

Preschool joins the Zipper Club!

Today we started something new in our room.  Everyone wants to be part of the Zipper Club.  The rules are few: you must show the teacher that you can zipper your coat on your own.  New members will sign their name on a card to hang on our Zipper Club sign. The new member must take an oath to always zipper coat, once you are in, you are in!  Tomorrow is the first day, stayed tuned!

Caroline was all about the number 7 today! We counted to seven with our friends. We talked about how important it is to point and count to help with our one-to-one correspondence and counting a group of objects correctly.Then we worked on our lesson - proper formation, identifying the letters in its name, counting to 7, recognizing 7 and applying 7 to a ten frame.
The children enjoyed listening to the Itsy Bitsy Spider and working on their alphabet knowledge during Media class this morning!  We love Media Mondays!

As a result, we can see many cat-related works of art, an important one of which was The Cat and the Bird. This book of the same name talks about the friendship between a cat and a bird, told through a series of illustrations based on Paul Klee’s works. The children will make their own version of the Cat and The Bird.   We will also enjoy a snack of pumpernickel bread. Pumpernickel is bread originated from the Westphalian region of Germany; the traditional is made of only rye flour, is square with coarse grain texture and slightly sweet. Rye is a grain that can survive a winter freeze. It is very nutritious, and you can almost live on it. This is perfect for the Northern German regions where it is hard to grow wheat.  We will also enjoy learning the Chicken Dance.

Dear God,

As I carve my pumpkin help me say this prayer:
Open my mind so I can learn about You;
Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.
Open my eyes so Your love I will see;
I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.
Open my ears so your word I will hear.
Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near
Let Your light shine in all I say and do!

Amen.
