Center Day! Mrs. Gillespie helped the boys and girls work on a red fish blue fish book. They had to read the color words and write the numbers.
Mrs. Burton was our Parent Helper today. She played a fun game of Dr. Seuss Bingo with the boys and girls.
We read ”Wacky Wednesday” by Dr. Seuss. Mrs. Gillespie took the children to the big kid bathroom and when they came back some Wacky things had happened in the classroom. The boys and girls were able to find all 16 things. They then put the numbers i. Order 1 - 16.
Cataleya O. was our Special Person today!
Wacky Wednesday! We had some crazy looking boys and girls come to class today! Mrs. Gillespie also looked a little wacky!
Afternoon Music Class with Me. Showstead. The boys and girls learned some songs and learned about the piano.
Afternoon Enrichment the children practiced addition problems with numbers 1 - 5. We also learned all about number 19.
The boys and girls each had a turn to feel the Oobleck. When the squeezes their hand, the Oobleck became almost like playdough. When they opened their hand, it turned into liquid. While this was very messy and left us all with green ha dado, it was fun seeing the Oobleck change.
After we were all cleaned up I read, “Oh, The Places You Go” by Dr. Seuss.
After we made the Oobleck, the children had to predict whether a paper clip, penny, toothpick, and marble would sink or float in the mix. The marble and penny sank right away, but the toothpick and paperclip floated...much to our surprise.
We made our own Oobleck using water, corn starch, and food coloring. A messy science project, but one that was enjoyed by all!
After Religion, I read “Bartholomew and the Oobleck” by Dr. Seuss. This is a cute story about a king who wishes for something different to fall from the sky. His wish is granted when Oobleck...a green sticky substance which is not quite a liquid and not quite a solid falls from the sky and causes big problems all over the kingdom.
Before we met our Prayers Buddies for Mass, the boys and girls shared the the jerseys or team shirts they were wearing.
Carter as our Special Person today!
The weather was wonderful this afternoon. We were finally able to get outside and let the children run around on the playground. We all had a great time!
Pizza is a food that is common in Italy. The boys and girls made their own pizzas today.
This afternoon we reviewed the countries we have already learned about. The boys and girls are doing a great job knowing where they are located. Today we learned about Italy. The children learned that it is shaped like a boot. We saw pictures of the leaning tower of Pisa, counted to 10 and learned how to say hello and good-bye in Italian.
