We brought all kinds of furry friends today - teddy bears, Micky Mouse, a squirrel, a monkey and many more!
We measured our furry friends this morning!  We laid our friends down and made towers of unifix cubes to see how tall they were.  The towers were collected and made into a graph.  We had to count how many cubes tall our friends were and record it on our information sheet.
Afternoon Enrichment had their last rotation with the math games - Fill it Up, Make and Count and Build a Shape.  We used Unfix to fill and count how many with shapes, make and recreate patterns,  and see how many Unifix cubes it takes to make different shapes.  At each station the children had to record their discovery.
We enjoyed our visit with Mrs. Goldberg today.  We made a frog puzzle (just like our teddy bear puzzle during centers).  Great minds think a like! :)  This activity exercises our visual discrimination, working memory, posture and our ability to follow multi-step directions.
It is all about fun with bears this week! We played Bingo Bears and reviewed our beginning letter sounds with picture bears.  We made beautiful water color crosses for our lockers at our art center.  We also began making our own teddy bear puzzles that exercise our visual discrimination!
Look who found us in the park!  We miss you Mrs. Gillespie!  We all hope your son feels better soon!
We learned about more jungle animals during our OWL lesson today as we read Chameleon's Colors by Chisato Tashiro.  Chameleon is tired of blending in because no one sees him.  The other animals think changing color is wonderful and want try it.  It causes a lot of trouble for the animals and they realize they want to stay just they way they are.  The children also enjoyed recognizing their classmate's last names and counting the syllables as we said the name.
Morning choice time kept us busy and building!  Cole enjoyed our animal matching game.  Brady decorated his traced hand and made it into a flower for our classroom bulletin board.
