Welcome to Little Knights Preschool

 at St. Joseph Catholic School!

Called to Discipleship: Be Christ’s Light

I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph Catholic School community as the new full day preschool teacher working with four year olds. I look forward to being a part of such a positive and caring academic community where body, mind and spirit are nurtured and developed.

Although I earned my education degree in Ohio, I have been a preschool teacher in Libertyville for the last 15 years. I love teaching preschool children and seeing the world through their eyes. I believe a warm and loving environment both encourages children to learn as well as helps them gain self-confidence. I am a strong believer in learning through play as well as hands on learning to help foster a child’s creativity and development. I look forward to a positive, loving, and wonderful year with your child!

We all looked so handsome and pretty during our Morning Choice time!  We were all so excited for the show later this morning!
We are awaiting our magic candy canes!  We all sprayed our magic seeds 3 times this morning - for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The children learned that there is one more ingredient needed to make these magic candy cane seeds grow!  They had to tell the seeds that they believe in the magic of Christmas!  We cannot wait to watch them grow!  Stay tuned!
We talked about the three things that plants need to grow.  Soil, sun and water.  Now it was time to water our magic seeds with three squirts of water - for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Preschool science today was all about the magic of Christmas!  We planted our magic candy cane seeds!
We love listening to Ms. Nash's Christmas favorites!  This story is about Emit the Elf who falls from Santa's sleigh.  He goes on an adventure through all the years holidays until he finds Santa again.  It is a beautiful story about the importance of giving during the holiday season and year round.
The children made a manger scene with Ms. Nash this morning.  It was tricky to paint with our fingers and get it on the correct dots.  We had to use our listening skills and eye/hand coordination for this project!
It was Star Day in Preschool!  We read a story by Oliver Jeffries called How To Catch A Star.  It is about a little boy in search of a star who has big dreams and has unexpected discoveries.  We each made our own watercolor and salt beach scene with our own friendly star!   When salt is sprinkled on the wet paper, it starts to gather the watercolor pigments into a beautiful ocean scene.
We love Morning Choice time with our friends.  The children get to choose where they play and what they want to do with the materials before them.  Jackson and Jack were pretending to bulldoze in the sensory table.  Daniela, Hugo, Anna and Sofia were making soup for God.  The children also enjoyed making colorful Christmas trees and roll and count Gingerbread Men.
Mr. Sprinkles is enjoying a book in our classroom today with his friends Clifford the Big Red Dog and Puppy.
