play boys and girls I am back it's always you can't see me but I am here for the second part of our science experiment we were at home and we gathered all of our material we got the dish detergent I poured my just a little, you're really not going to need that much are Q-tips we have our food coloring and milk we are ready like I told you at the house this is a glass pie plate and we're not going to put this much and this was that we said works best for the 6p going to Port there we go tell the next step or going to do is we are going to put in the food coloring okay now I'm going to put in that is kind of cool just to watch spreads out and kind of feathers into the milk and and let's put some of them red over here drops of the red alright ant couldn't find the yellow kind of didn't make it on the way to school so I found some green all right so we added the milk and now we put in the food coloring so now we get the detergent and we're going to use either the toothpicks that we brought from home and I got it just like that. And I don't want it dripping all over and I'm just going to touch it one time just one time into the middle of the milk I just blew first okay scientist make predictions what do you think is going to happen when I touch the detergent into the food coloring you think the colors are going to mix a prediction I'm just going to touch it really gently into the blue is pretty cool the clean end and on again put it in the green and blue got all the way oh my goodness wow that was so cool to see if we can do it one more time again I'll get it capitals of the red what's going on here quit singing Rolling in pushing each other away you can see the edge of the plate push the color out at the edge of the play place try some of the red here take some of this kind of drop it and see what happens I think the initial reaction was the coolest I still see a little bit of a putting color over here that is really cool so I'm going to try to try to explain what you are seeing so small part of the fat in the milk pushing and pulling and twisting around to try to get away from the detergent kind of compare that you know how take two magnets and I've seen you do this in the classroom and you could have put the magnets together and they stick right attract each other and it around and try to make the two opposite attract each other and that's what this kind of reminds me of so the colors are kind of pushing away from the the surfactants the detergent experiment with some different kinds of milk do you have some heavy cream at home left over from the holidays that would be really cool because I think that's even a higher fits a contact so that would be really cool or maybe just regular milk you have to put on your cereal I think that would be kind of cool to so I'm anxious for you to try this at home this is our fabulous kitchen experiment most of these materials you should have in your house right now and I would love for you to send me a pic a video or just let us know how it went that sometimes they are very very successful sometimes Arnett and we always kind of analyze and kind of question and ask yourself I wonder why it didn't work or I wonder what I could do differently this time so I have a lot of fun with your kitchen science with your magic milk oh okay get back to us with your videos or pictures or your feedback we'd love to hear back from you okay
