Our author study inspired a vocabulary lesson with some of the words in the book.  One question was "What is a typewriter?"  We took a field trip to the school office and Mrs. Lombardo gave the children a lesson on how to use a typewriter. We learned that a typewriter has the same kind of keyboard as a computer. Each child got to type their name too!
