On Friday, we read The Lorax  by Dr. Seuss.  We learned why trees are essential to our environment and the air we breathe and why pollution is not good for us.  Our STEAM challenge for the week was to build our own truffula tree and see how tall we can build it.  We tried small colored blocks at first and discovered they fell over quite a bit.  The chidren discovered than unifix cubes can be made into taller towers since they link together.  Patterns and lots of counting took place as the building took place.
