Peek At Our Week March 19 – March 23, 2018

Religion Objectives:  

SeedsGod gives us life and food. The children will identify different ways of sharing bread. The children will thank God for giving us life and food. The children will recognize loving and unloving actions. 

Easter.  The children will identify Easter as a feast of life, know that Jesus gives us new life and thank God for life. 

We will be having a special lesson on Tuesday with Mrs. Scott – Fruit of the Spirit! 

Science Objectives: 

Investigate and describe sources of heat energy.  Make predictions and investigate with a sink or float activity.  Recognize, observe and discuss the relationship between organisms and their environment. 

My Big World with Clifford: Springtime is duckling time! 

Social Studies Objectives: 

Use language to describe roles.  Discuss trust. 

Literacy Objectives: 

Unit 5 – Week 4 – What are desert animals like? Concept words hide, lizard, snake, spider, turtle, and under. Amazing words cowboy, sniff, gobble, herd, toss and burrow.  Writing our name. Organize life around events and routines. Collect and organize data. Use personal pronouns.  Recognize others have different perspectives and feelings. Coordinate sequence of movements to perform tasks. Participate in a discussion and respond appropriately. Understand the meaning of words.  Label and describe things.  Ask and answer questions about a book. Use information learned in a book. Listen to this: same sounds, letter sounds, sounds clues, onset and rime and concepts of print. Understanding and using positional words. Beginning sound letter match. Letter Tt week. Locate the letter Tt. 

Math Objectives: 

Recognize numerals 0 -9. Create repeating patterns.  Make a leprechaun puzzle. Counting, recognizing numbers and sorting. 

Afternoon Enrichment: 

Monday: The children will complete their study of Ireland with learning about the Claddagh symbol and what it represents – love, friendship and loyalty.  After making a craft they children will enjoy Irish dancing fun and learn the Irish Jog.  Erin Go Bragh! (Ireland Forever)  

Tuesday: IXL Math and app of choice.

Wednesday: Afternoon Gym and Media CAPE with Mrs. Beyer’s class.  Alphabet Letter page.

Thursday: The children will finish their Dr. Seuss author study with If I Ran the Zoo. The children will create their own animal. Music Class with Mrs. Beyer’s class.

Friday:  STEAM challenge – Magnet race tracks.  Mindfulness class with Miss Angie!
