Monday, 1/29/24, Notes

Thanks to all who attended the Open House, Mass, and Pancake Breakfast yesterday. It was a great kick off event for Catholic Schools Week! I am thankful for all of you and your children. :)
 
Homework:
 
1. Read 20 minutes
 
2. Practice spelling pattern /er/ --> Words with er, ir, ur --> Please see the packet that went home last week for ideas of words to practice and ways in which to practice them. :)
 
3. No written Math homework --> Chapter Test = tomorrow --> 2 digit subtraction
 

Tests and Quizzes:

  • Math Chapter 4 Test → Tuesday, 1/30/24
    • Please see the review sheet that went home last week for ideas of types of problems your child will see on the test.
  • i-Ready math diagnostic 2 = week of 1/29/24 (most likely Wednesday, 1/31 and Thursday, 2/1)
    • No studying is needed for this.
    • Please help your child get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast each day.

Catholic Schools Week Reminders:

  • All School Mass = Tuesday
  • Pillow Drive = Thursday --> Please bring in pillows to support our wonderful bed ministry.
  • Spirit Wear Dress Down = Friday
  • Buddy Reading Time = Friday --> Please bring a book from home to read with your 8th grade buddy!
  • Read a Thon --> Please check out the SJCS social media pages for more info about this SJSPA fundraiser.
Additional Reminders:
  • Monday, 1/29 = Community Dinner → All are welcome to attend the free community dinner in the Koenig Center at 6pm. Please visit this link to sign up. My husband and I have gone to some of these in the past and will be there this time too. It’s always nice to meet different people from our parish community and enjoy a tasty meal!
  • 1st Reconciliation = Sunday, 2/4/24, following the 5pm Mass → Please keep practicing the Act of Contrition prayer with your children.
