Dear Families,

 

This week we are starting subtraction. We will get to the "standard algorithm" (regrouping tens for ones) later in the week, but tomorrow (Tuesday) we are going to experiment with a different strategy to really work on number sense as taking away tens and ones.

 

This strategy will show up on Tuesday's homework. Your child should also bring home papers from the book tomorrow with their work from small group instruction during class. Those can serve as a guide for their homework.
