Reading
Grammar Simple Solutions
- Complete lesson 130 in your Green Simple Solutions.
- Here is a video of the questions being read aloud.
- Here is the YouTube link.
- Upload a picture of your completed lesson to Seesaw.
i-Ready Reading
- Log on to i-Ready.
- Complete 30 minutes of Reading lessons.
- 2M - Please respond to the Seesaw activity after you finish your lessons.
Math
Math Simple Solutions
- Complete lesson 124 in your Simple Solutions Red Math book.
- Upload a picture of your completed assignment to Seesaw.
Math - Fractions (2 pages)
- Watch the mini lesson video on writing more than one fraction to describe a shape (YouTube link).
- Follow along with the video and complete this activity sheet.
- After watching the first video and completing the first activity, complete this page of fraction pizza word problems on your own.
- Listen to your teacher explain the directions and read the problems here (YouTube link).
- Please note: There are circles on the second page for you to use as an aid to draw out the pizzas being described.
- Upload BOTH pages to Seesaw (the mini lesson page and the word problem page).
Writing
End of the year Writing Activity
- As your time as a second grader is coming to an end, we want you to share your words of wisdom of what you have learned about being a Second Grader.
- Use this worksheet, or write on a separate piece of paper.
- Try to imagine you are giving advice to a First Grader coming to Second Grade. You will include:
- What you learn in second grade (think about how Second Grade is different from First Grade)
- What your teacher loves
- What your favorite part about Second Grade was
- Write in complete sentences and use your best handwriting.
- Upload your completed assignment to Seesaw.
Religion
Family Time: Prepare for Sunday’s Mass
- Read Sunday’s Gospel together as a family. (You can find all the readings of the day here.) We celebrate the feast of Pentecost (when Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to be with his disciples).
- Discuss these questions with your family:
- What color does the priest wear on Pentecost? (Hint: It’s not white!)
- Why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to be with us on Earth?
- What are the two symbols we usually see for the Holy Spirit?
- Check out Heidi Witte’s Children’s Liturgy of the Word YouTube channel.
- The May 31st video should be posted on Saturday, but it might be up by Friday.
- Bonus Optional Activity: Color this Pentecost coloring sheet. (You’ll see a symbol of the Holy Spirit in the picture.)
