Week at a Glance: January 29-February 2

Week of January 29 (*Some objectives are subject to change based on students’ needs.)

Catholic Schools Week Schedule of Events:
    • Sunday: Mass at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Pancake Breakfast in the Gym until 12:30 p.m. and Open House from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
    • Monday: Celebrate our Nation: Red, white, and blue dress down day
    • Tuesday: Celebrate our Families and Volunteers
    • Wednesday: Celebrate our Teachers and Staff
    • Thursday: Celebrate our Community - Pillow drive and field trip to Feed My Starving Children
    • Friday: Celebrate our Students: Spirit wear dress down day, Morning prayer and treat in KC, and BINGO at lunch

Reading: 

  • Complete word journal for the vocabulary words from Ch. 1-8 of A Night Divided
  • Read and discuss Ch. 2-7 of A Night Divided
  • Add identified vocabulary words to vocab. by association and vocab. study worksheets
  • Show understanding of the vocabulary words in the chapters we read

Language Arts: 

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
  • Complete the weekly grammar spiral review worksheet daily at the beginning of L.A.  
  • Finish graphic organizer (due Tuesday) and type personal narrative draft in Google Docs
  • Show comprehension of Week 18 spelling words (words with sub-, super-)

Religion: 

  • Show understanding of the information in Unit 2 Session 7 with correct answers on the quiz (scheduled for Monday, January 29)
  • Complete Session 7 wrap-up worksheet after the quiz
  • Retell the story of Philip and the Ethiopian
  • Miss Nelson will be teaching scripture during class on Friday and will be discussing the Mass readings for the weekend.
