Week of January 8 (*Some objectives are subject to change based on students’ needs.)

Reading: 

• Show understanding of Wonder with accurate final projects (will be introduced after Christmas break and will tentatively be due Thursday, January 11)
• Show comprehension of the vocabulary words from “The Fifth-Grade Nature Retreat” - Appendix with correct answers on the vocab. quiz (tentatively scheduled for Thursday, January 11)
• Watch Wonder movie and discuss similarities and differences between it and the book

Language Arts: 

• Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills 
• Complete the weekly grammar spiral review worksheet daily at the beginning of L.A.
• Continue writing personal narrative draft
• Show comprehension of Week 15 spelling words (words with syllable patterns)

Religion: 

• Tell what the disciples did after Jesus’s Ascension
• Name and describe each of the seven sacraments
• Describe how Jesus is present to us through the sacraments
• Miss Nelson will be teaching scripture during class on Friday and will be discussing the Mass readings for the weekend.
