Reading: 

• Make text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections for the various characters in Wonder
• Accurately complete a vocabulary by association table for “The Fifth Grade Nature Retreat” – Appendix by making connections between the vocabulary words for these chapters and the characters in the book
• Show understanding of the events of “The Fifth Grade Nature Retreat” – Appendix with correct answers to the comprehension questions

Language Arts: 

• Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
• Complete the weekly grammar spiral review worksheet daily at the beginning of L.A. 
• Complete comparison Christmas writing activity
• Compete in the class spelling bee to see who will qualify for the school spelling bee to be held in January
• Continue personal narrative draft

Religion: 

• Continue filling out daily entries in personal Jesse Tree Advent booklets
• Identify the season of Advent as a time of hope and joyful anticipation of the celebration of Jesus’s birth
• Explain how the words of Isaiah find their fulfillment in Jesus
