Week of September 4 (*Some objectives are subject to change based on students’ needs.)

Reading: 

• Identify character changes while reading Frindle
• Define unfamiliar words using context clues
• Make inferences about characters and how/why they change
• Make text-to-world connections
• Show comprehension of the chapters we read this week 

Language Arts: 

• Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
• Learn about the weekly grammar spiral review worksheet (due Friday)
• Learn about and show understanding of dependent and independent clauses
• Show comprehension of Week 1 spelling words (words with suffixes -ic, -ism, -ive)

Religion: 

• Tell the story of how God created the world with beauty and order
• Describe ways God cares for creation and ways we can care for the world
• Explain the mystery of the Trinity
• Miss Nelson will be teaching scripture during class on Friday and will be discussing the Mass readings for that weekend.
