Week of April 17 (*Some objectives are subject to change based on students’ needs.)

Reading: 

• Watch a video about life in Ancient Egypt before reading “The Mummy King” in Storyworks
• Read an informational text – “The Mummy King” – from Storyworks Magazine
• Show understanding of the information in “The Mummy King” with correct answers to the comprehension questions
• Show understanding of Ch. 31-36 in A Night Divided with correct answers to the comprehension questions
• Read through Ch. 40 and show understanding of the events of those chapters with good class discussion
• Show comprehension of the vocabulary words from Ch. 33-40 with correct answers on the quiz (scheduled for Friday, April 21)
• Create a word journal for the vocabulary words in Ch. 41-47 of A Night Divided 

Language Arts: 

• Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills  
• Choose a topic for opinion/persuasive paper, and begin brainstorming and gathering information on the chosen topic
• Show comprehension of Week 26 spelling words (multisyllabic words)

Religion: 

• Recognize the value of honest and respect in communication
• Practice good listening skills
• Recognize the changes that occur during puberty
• Learn the importance of dealing with the stress of maturing
