Week at a Glance: May 10-14

Week of May 10 (*Some objectives are subject to change based on students’ needs.)


Reading: 

  • Complete a handout on context clues in Ch. 6-10 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Begin working on a handout on context clues in Ch. 11-15 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Show understanding of the novel so far with correct answers to the comprehension questions from Ch. 8-10 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Show understanding of vocabulary words from Ch. 6-11 of Tuck Everlasting with correct answers during Kahoot (*5B will take the quiz on these words on Monday, May 17, and 5K will take the quiz on Tuesday, May 18.)

Language Arts: 

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills  
  • Learn about conjunctions
  • Continue working on persuasive paper draft (*Must be typed in Google Docs by Monday, May 17, for 5B and by Tuesday, May 18, for 5K.)
  • Show comprehension of Week 25 spelling words (5B will take the test on Tuesday, May 11; 5K will take it on Wednesday, May 12.)
  • Learn the Week 26 spelling words

Social Studies: 

  • Show comprehension of the 50 states’ abbreviations with correct answers on the test (5B will take the test on Tuesday, May 11, and 5K will take it on Wednesday, May 12.)
  • Learn and define vocabulary words from Chapter 5 Lesson 1
  • Explain how tensions rose between the American colonists and the British following the French and Indian War
  • Complete the weekly geography packet on A Product Map: Nebraska
