Week at a Glance: May 3-7

Week of May 3 (*Some objectives are subject to change based on students’ needs.)

Reading: 

  • Complete a mini-project for Ch. 1-5 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Complete a handout on context clues in Ch. 6-10 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Show understanding of the novel so far with correct answers to the comprehension questions from Ch. 5-7 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Learn vocabulary words from Ch. 6-11 of Tuck Everlasting

Language Arts: 

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills  
  • Learn about facts vs. opinions and how they’re used in opinion/argumentative writing
  • Learn about taking a stance in opinion/argumentative writing
  • Show comprehension of Week 24 spelling words (5K will take the test on Monday, May 3; 5B took it on Friday, April 30.)
  • Learn the Week 25 spelling words

Social Studies: 

  • Show understanding of Chapter 4 with correct answers on the review guide and during our review game
  • Show comprehension of Chapter 4 with correct answers on the test (5B will take the test on Thursday, May 6, and 5K will take the test on Friday, May 7.)
  • Show comprehension of the 50 states’ abbreviations with correct answers during 50 state abbreviations BINGO
  • Complete the weekly geography packet on A Cultural Map: National Football League
