Important Dates:

Reading:
- Complete a handout on context clues in Ch. 1-5 of Tuck Everlasting
- Show understanding of the novel so far with correct answers to the comprehension questions from Prologue-Ch. 4 of Tuck Everlasting
- Introduce Ch. 1-5 mini-project
- Show understanding of the vocabulary words from Ch. 1-5 of Tuck Everlasting with correct answers on the quiz (5B will take the quiz on Friday, April 30, and 5K will take it on Monday, May 3.)
Language Arts:
- Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
- Show understanding of modifiers
- Continue learning about opinion/argumentative writing
- Learn about leads in opinion/argumentative writing
- Learn about taking a stance in opinion/argumentative writing
- Learn the difference between facts and opinions in writing and correctly identify the two
- Show comprehension of Week 24 spelling words (5B will take the test on Friday, April 30, and 5K will take the test on Monday, May 3.)
Social Studies:
- Analyze the causes of the French and Indian War
- Identify George Washington’s role in the French and Indian War
- Assess how the conflicts and alliances during the French and Indian War affected the British colonies
- Describe the role played by American Indians in the French and Indian War and the events that followed
