Reading: 

  • Complete iReady growth check/reading lessons
  • Complete anticipation guide as a pre-reading activity for Tuck Everlasting
  • Create a word journal for the vocabulary words from Ch. 1-5 of Tuck Everlasting
  • Introduce “Word Detective” ongoing assignment
  • Introduce “Chapter Titles” ongoing assignment

Language Arts: 

  • Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills  
  • Show understanding of modifiers
  • Continue learning about opinion/argumentative writing
  • Show comprehension of Week 23 spelling words (5B will take the test on Thursday, April 22, and 5K will take the test on Friday, April 23.)

Social Studies: 

  • Explain and analyze an excerpt from a slave narrative
  • Explain the causes and effects of conflicts between American Indians and European settlers
  • Identify key groups and people involved in major conflicts between American Indians and European settlers
  • Complete the weekly geography packet on the Arctic Tundra
