Reading:
- Show comprehension of the vocabulary words from Ch. 9-12 of Hatchet with correct answers on the vocabulary quiz (5K will take the quiz on Thursday, February 25, and 5B will take the quiz on Friday, February 26.)
- Read and discuss Chapters 11 & 12 of Hatchet
- Continue developing character web for Brian – the main character in Hatchet
- Learn about and complete an activity on figurative language – similes, metaphors, and personification
- Complete a close reading activity for Ch. 11.
Language Arts:
- Continue practicing Daily Oral Language (DOL) skills
- Learn about reflexive and indefinite pronouns
- Show comprehension of Week 17 spelling words
Social Studies:
- Show understanding of Chapter 3 Lesson 2 with correct answers to the lesson review
- Learn vocabulary words/phrases from Ch. 3 Lesson 3
- Summarize the sequence of events leading to a permanent settlement in Virginia
