Grade 6:

to demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking through the study of pronouns
to produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience through argumentation

Grade 7:

to demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking through the study of inverted sentences, compound subjects, and singular/plural pronouns
to produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience through editorial/bias writing through newspaper team presentations

Grade 8:

to demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking through the study of simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences
