Week at a Glance: 3/18-3/22/24

Fundations: (phonics): Students will be able to-

  • Spell words with oi, oy
  • Spell trick words favorite, ocean, early

Reading and Writing: (Wit and Wisdom) Students will be able to-

  • Compare and contrast versions of Johnny Appleseed
  • Identify collective nouns
  • Identify story elements of the legend of John Henry
  • Compare John Henry legend to other legends s/he has read
  • Illustrate examples of collective nouns

Math: Students will be able to-

  • record data from a survey.
  • use data from a tally chart to make a picture graph (pictograph)
  •  analyze data on picture graphs.
  •  make bar graphs to show data.

Religion: students will-

  • We remember and reflect on the story of the Last Supper.
  • -We reflect on the Eucharist (the Body and Blood of Christ) as our spiritual food and think about how it nurtures us.

Science: Students will-

  • Investigate how different plants grow best under very different conditions, ranging from desserts to tropical rainforests
  • Notice differences between two places
  • Figure out whether mystery plants would grow better in the desert Dome (Mitchell Park Domes) or in the Tropical Dome
