Religion

Students will:

  • Explain that the Ten Commandments are a guide to follow Jesus. 
  • Discuss the importance of obeying our parents, as Jesus obeyed his parents.
  • Define the term Ten Commandments.

Math

Students will:

  • use fact family relationships to solve problems
  • solve 2-step word problems
  • Review addition and subtraction strategies
  • Complete addition and subtraction assessment on Friday 10.13

Phonics

Students will:

  • Review the sounds for suffix -ed (/id/, /d/, /t/)
  • Encode and decode words with suffixes -s, -es, -ed, -ing
  • Encode and decode words with suffixes -er, -est
  • Read words with vowel teams: oa, oe, ow

Reading/Writing

Students will:

  • Determine the central message of a story
  • Use linking comments to discuss a story
  • Explain how characters change and support with evidence from a text
  • Identify main topic and details in a nonfiction text

Social Studies

Students will:

  • use maps by reading the map features of: title, compass rose, and map key.
  • Identify different kinds of maps and when we would use them
  • map reading skills to answer questions about three different locations

  • Chapter 1 Math Test is Friday 10.13 - the study guide with topics to review went home on Friday.
