Religion

Students will:

  • tell about the special meal that Jesus shared with his disciples at the Last Supper
  • identify Ordinary Time as a time to be fed by Jesus, the Bread of Life.
  • explain that Ordinary Time is a time to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus.
  • define Bread of Life, chasuble, liturgical year, and vestments.

Math

Students will:

  • Count back to find the difference
  • Subtract zero or subtract all to find the difference
  • Use doubles facts to find the difference
  • Use addition facts to subtract.

Phonics

Students will:

  • Read and spell words with oi/oy vowel team
  • Spell words with the -ind, -ild, -old, -ost, and -olt sound
  • Review and practice trick words
  • Review plural suffixes
  • Review the suffix -ed and-ing

Reading/Writing

Students will:

  • Orally retell the story A Color of His Own
  • Form complete sentences with multiple subjects
  • Compare the character’s attempts to solve the problem in the beginning and end of the story
  • Choose evidence that provides support of an explanation of the ways the chameleon changes in A Color of His Own
  • Construct simple sentences with one or more subjects and multiple verbs based on the characters in A Color of His Own
  • Identify story elements and evidence of change in the story
  • Make real-life connections to the word camouflage
  • Retell the events of the story
  • Form complete sentences with multiple subjects
  • Compare the main character’s attempts to solve the problem at the beginning of the story and the end

Social Studies

Students will:

  • Identify the features of rural, suburban, and urban communities
  • Compare and contrast features of different types of communities
  • Determine the relative location and population densities of rural, suburban, and urban communities 
  • Identify advantages and disadvantages of different types of communities
