Religion:

  • Students will:
    • Tell about the special meal that Jesus shared with his disciples at the Last Supper
    • Identify Ordinary Time as a time to be fed by Jesus, the Bread of Life
    • Explain that Ordinary Time is a time to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus
    • Define Bread of Life, chasuble, liturgical year, and vestments

Math:

  • Students will:
    • Continue to learn about different strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems
    • Write number sentence to solve word problems
    • Count back to find the difference between two numbers
    • Subtract zero or subtract all from a number to find the difference


Language Arts:

  • Students will:
    • Revise narrative writing by adding to it
    • Edit, illustrate, and publish a personal narrative
    • Give positive feedback to other writers

Reading:

  • Students will:
    • Review long-vowel pairs
    • Review short-vowel and long-vowel patterns
    • Identify long-vowel words
    • Decode and encode words ending in y/i/ and y/e/
    • Understand adjectives ending in y
    • Practice reading rhythmically 

Social Studies:

  • Students will review:
    • Laws and consequences
    • Rights and responsibilities
    • Branches of government
    • Community jobs
  • Unit 1 Test = Thursday 10/6

Science: We will resume science lessons the week of October 10th.
