Rohnan demonstrated the Preschool Flip for the class.  Now everyone knows how to put on their coat or jacket.  Remember, tag at the toes!  Thanks Rohnan!
In science today, we made Pumpkin Oobleck.  Is it a liquid? Is it a solid?  We know it is a lot of fun!  Check out the science photo album for more pictures.

We will enjoy Elmer the Elephant books from David McKee, journal why we are so special and create our own Elmer for the classroom.

We had a great time with centers today!  One of our favorites was process art. We mixed red and yellow paint to make orange.  We used all kinds of texturing tools and created whatever we liked.  At the rug, we made simple patterns with unifix cubes.  We worked on our one-to-one correspondence, color recognition and counting skills with our bears and dot cards.  Finally, we got to be junior firefighters and put out the flames at the sensory table.  We used water bottles to put out the numbered flames.  It was fun counting practice and fine motor skills work!
We had a wonderful discussion about home and school. We made a Venn diagram to show what we have only at home, what is only at school and what we have in both places. Will said that we have God in both places!  Love the Religion and Social Studies connection!
We enjoyed listening to The Fitehouse Light by Janet Nolan. It tells the story of an amazing lightbulb that was lit for over 100 years helping the firefighters in Livermore, California.  Have your child share this amazing story with you!
It is Fire Safety Month and we are talking safety in PreK4. We learned how to "Stop, Drop and Roll!"  Lola demonstrated for the class then we all took turns. We also discussed safety plans for home and will be sharing with our families what we learned at home.  PreK4 families have homework!
This afternoon, the children worked together as teams at engineering challenges using cups of different sizes, blocks and wooden sticks. It was fun to see the teamwork develop and their inspiration grow as they tried creating different structures. Ethan made sure everyone knew to have a strong base first!  Look at the Afternoon Enrichment photo album for more pictures.
Introducing our new interactive literacy bulletin board. Our Letter Leader walked us through it all!  We learned all about Letter Ee, ways to represent the number 2 and our shape of the month, the square!
