Week of 10/23/23

3rd - 4th Grade

The 3rd and 4th graders will be presenting in Spanish letting us know what colors they chose for their Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo worksheets this week.
 

This week will be fun and exciting as the students get to learn about the traditional Mexican culture of el Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) which is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. Students will learn about how and when it originated, how it is celebrated and how people prepare for the celebration.

  • 3rd -4th Grade will first finish their presentations. Then they will complete the Rockalingua assignment and get ready to complete El Dia de los Muertos packet.
  • 5th Grade completed their presentations and did a fantastic job speaking in Spanish. I am so proud of their hard work! We have moved on to learning our numeros 1-30 and they will continue to complete the Rockalingua classroom assignments and review the numbers packet in class.
  • 5th Grade students will learn about Dia de los Muertos next week.

6th Grade:

This week the students will continue to learn about Los meses del año and Las estaciones.

    • Students will review the Autentico book in our lesson about The months and seasons and complete the classroom packet. Students will practice how to speak with a partner in completing the sentences of What day of the week it is, when their birth date is and in what season it falls in.
  • ¿Qué fecha es hoy?
  • Mi Cumpleaños es en..
  • Mi Cumpleaños es en la primavera, el verano, el otoño y el invierno.

7th Grade: 

As the students just began presenting on Wednesday of last week; Students will continue presenting their Pennants in Spanish of the Hispanic Influential Leader that they chose.

7th and 8th Grade

Once the 7th graders complete their presentations, they will join the 8th grade in reviewing the Autentico book in our lesson about the months and seasons and complete the classroom packet. Students will practice how to speak with a partner in completing the sentence of What day of the week it is,  when their birth date is and in what season it falls in.
