Welcome to the STEAM LAB!

All of our students from kindergarten through eighth grade are able to design and create in this innovative environment. Our kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth grade students visit the lab once a week during the school year. Our fifth grade students come to the lab twice a week. Our students in middle school will be in the lab three times a week for the entire year. Our program is designed around eight areas of exploration. The lab offers an opportunity for students to explore new concepts, collaborate, imagine, create and problem-solve in a hands-on environment.
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! My name is Addison Delaney, and I am excited to begin my third year as the STEAM Facilitator at SJCS!
The learning and creativity in our STEAM Lab are student-driven. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable exploring new ideas, asking questions, taking risks, and learning through hands-on experiences. I look forward to guiding and supporting our students as they become engaged, curious, and empowered learners.
Before becoming an educator, I earned my B.S. in Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry, followed by my M.S. in Biotechnology. My professional experience includes laboratory research in oncology and infectious diseases at Tufts University, the University of Florida, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I am excited to bring my science background into the classroom and share my love of discovering new concepts, problem-solving, creativity, and all things STEAM with my students!
Outside of school, I have been married for 24 years to my husband, Mike, who is an active-duty submariner in the U.S. Navy. We have three children: Katie, a senior at Carmel Catholic; Kiernan, a sophomore at Carmel Catholic; and Keaghan, a third grader here at SJCS. Our three dogs - Tully, Guinness, and Maisie - round out our family!
In my spare time, I love to read, although much of my time is happily spent cheering on my kids at cheer, wrestling, tumbling, and soccer activities. I am looking forward to another wonderful year of creating, exploring, designing, and learning together in the STEAM Lab!
